This lovely Wheellock plate is a truly beautiful example of fine craftsmanship. The scalloped edge of the piece is rimmed in gold, and is further embellished by embossment along the inner side of the rim. Both the scalloping and embossment add to the floral appearance of the blossom shaped plate, which is adorned with a delicate handpainted blossoms at its center. The blooms and buds of the lovely floral scene are tinged with warm whites and contrasting violets, all of them couched amongst delicately verdant foliage. The underside of the dish is stamped in pink and green with the Wheellock mark.
