Noritake porcelain marks are, unfortunatley, nearly as numerous as fleas on a hound dog. In its lifespan of only slighly over a hundred years, Noritake procelain marks total more than 400! That's four or more per year on average. The factory operation that later would become known as Noritake was, to the West, previously part of the generalization of "Nippon" (which means "Japan") as the export porcelain of all Japan.
