Royal Crown Derby porcelain marks began to include the British Crown on its back stamp in 1776 by order of King George III. In 1890. Queen Victoria added "Royal" to the name, which also began appearing in the Derby mark.did not appear until the old Thomas Green Bone China Works changed its name in 1897 to "Crown Staffordshire". The mark ceased being used in 1985 when the company had been acquired by Wedgwood.
